About the club
Organized Chaos is based in Charlotte, NC. The club provides dragon boat and outrigger canoe coaching from beginner to advanced levels.
Founded in 2010, Organized Chaos, Inc. received 501(c)(3) status in 2013. With over 60 active members and 700 supporters, the team competes nationally in Mixed, Ladies, and Open (Men) categories at dragon boat regattas, festivals, and club crew championships. Organized Chaos also supports other paddling disciplines such as stand up paddleboarding, outrigger canoeing, and kayaking.
Organized Chaos is affiliated with the US Dragon Boat Federation (USDBF) and USA Canoe and Kayak (USACK).
When not on the water, in the gym, or eating right, Organized Chaos members support local charities through volunteering and donations. Of particular interest are causes which improve personal fitness/health and protect our local waterways. Organized Chaos also provides team building events and festivals for local nonprofits and businesses.
The club mission
Organized Chaos is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to increase public awareness of the amateur sport of dragon boating, outrigger canoeing, and other paddle sports to promote Dragon Boating for health and recreational benefits, to educate paddlers through practice and race curricula and to participate in paddling competitions throughout the United States of America and the world. By creating a multi-cultural, age-diverse team environment that strives for unity and excellence, we encourage all members to reach for and attain their personal best as individuals and athletes. We train to win and compete all the while embodying the best qualities of sportsmanship through courtesy and fair play.
